iDVD is a DVD creation software application made by Apple Inc. for Mac OS X. iDVD allows the user to add QuickTime Movies, MP3 music, and digital Photos to a DVD that can then be played on a commercial DVD player. It is often considered the last step of Apple's iLife suite, bringing together all the other iLife applications' results onto a removable medium. This instruction is from Wikipedia. And from these words, we can get that iDVD could help one to burn the videos to a DVD. As now almost the videos are stored in Digital method, to store the information in solid will make the videos be saved for much longer time and safer.

Where are your videos from? In nowadays, most videos are from Cameras or Camcorders. Maybe there are still videos from phones or other devices, but cameras and camcorders are the best choice when capturing. With the Memory Card, much information could be stored. But there is only one problem that different camcorders record videos in different formats. For example: most HD camcorders now could capture AVCHD files in MTS or M2TS format, some camcorders could capture MOV and Mp4 files while some JVC camcorders capture TOD and MOD videos. How to handle these videos in various formats?

Not all the formats could be accepted by iDVD. Actually, MOV is the best choice for iDVD burning. That's totally because iDVD could read MOV directly without any problems or rendering. Of course there is another way to solve this format problem: iMovie. This video editor software mainly helps to edit the videos, and after the editing, iMovie could import the new videos into iDVD directly. So, we just need to make the videos compatible with iMovie. But how?

Aunsoft Video Converter for Mac is what you need. Compare with many other such video conversion tools, you will find this software is much powerful. Conversion could be easily achieved, but to keep the high quality will be much more difficult. Most such tools will supply new videos with much quality loss, but never will Aunsoft Video Converter for Mac. It could easily help to transcode the videos to any other format you want, of course including formats for iDVD (MOV) and iMovie (AIC).

Have you ever had to bear the boring time in a long trip with nothing to do but Wait? But if you owned a mobile media player, everything will be totally different. And that's why iPad has captured a great number of fans since it was produced. This smart machine has magic power to attract everyone's eyes. It's so convenience to take out that make watching movies on iPad be a pretty choice in a journey.

Generally speaking, you can download any movie you likefrom the websites. The only problem is that you have to face most problems of the video formats. For iPad users, Mp4 is the best format to be recognized. That means if you download movies in this format, iPad can broadcast smoothly. But actually, most websites choose MKV as the movie format for downloading. Do you know the reason? As Internet is open to the whole word, movies on the websites are also open to customers from different countries or areas. To meet the different demands, such websites have to package different video and audio tracks together, including the languages, subtitles and so on. And that's just MKV's superiority. It could contain over 16 streams when other formats can only contain singe or several streams, which made MKV be more and more popular.

How to watch such downloaded MKV movies on iPad? The simplest way is to use a video conversion tool (video converter). Thousands of such converters can be found on the websites. And most could easily handle the function of conversion. It means that these tool could help to convert the video format from MKV to Mp4 for iPad broadcasting. But it's still difficult for most converters to allow users select the video or audio tracks except Aunsoft MKV Converter for Mac. In another word, most converters could only convert the videos to correct format, but keeping only one acquiescent video or audio track (usually the one listed first), but Aunsoft MKV Converter for Mac could support this function sucessfully.

This software is the professional software to deal with MKV moviws, especially in the part of stream selecion. Maybe this picture could show you how to select the tracks/streams freely with Aunsoft MKV Converter for Mac.

Of course, the main function of this software is to convert MKV files to various formats, including Mp4 for iPad. And it's really easy to use. Generally speaking, three steps are totally enough: just Import the files into Aunsoft MKV Converter for Mac and then Choose the correct format for Exporting.

Some basic edit to videos are still supported, such as merge, split and trim. You can also compare the original and new videos through the preview window.

Many camcorder fans would face an annoying problem: how can I get the movie clips taken by the camcorder merged into one file.

You know, while you are in the travelling, or in the party, or in some exciting moment, you will not always keep your camcorder shooting. You would need Pause or Stop all the time. And as far as the camcorder itself is concerned, it is stored in FAT32, which means the longest duration for a whole video will not exceed 4GB. Generally, such a size, 4GB, will not be longer than 2 hours for a HD Camcorder, taken in 1920x1080/60P, 1080P. But what about to get an entire movie out which will be over 2 hours?

I got a Panasonic Camcorder, TM-900 and I really love it. I also like traveling and that's the important reason why I want a camera.

In this summer, my holiday, I went to Tibet and many interesting scenes are taken with my camera, the local people, "Tibetans", yak, a special bull there, and the local temples there, including Lamas and their ceremony they hold, etc. Well, the whole contents is about 20GB.
After returning to my home, many friends of mine want to take what I shoot during the journey a look. Aha, of course it is my please to share with them. But what should I do? Just copying all what is in the camcorder memory to my PC HD and ask them to browse and watch? It is stupid!

I would like to merge some interesting scenes together into one file so that they can watch and enjoy just by sitting behind PC and it will save a lot of troubles in this way.

Shit, the program, following the camcorder, HD Writer does not provide this function. You only can Split the video, Cut the video and Trim the video with it. But how to merge the video?

I have to Google what I need. Wow, many Converter programs jump into my screen. I heard of such stuffs, since many friends of mine have and once recommend some of them to me. But I do not always like the apps which are called XXX Converter, because I know that the quality of the video will be lost after the conversion, or re-encoding.

Although I know such problem, I download a program called Xilisoft Video Converter Ultimate, which claims providing MTS merging. But, it drives me crazy because I can not find the options to get MTS output in their output list. No matter which option I choose, merge and output, I will get a different output format and the quality is terrible enough. Please remember that my source videos are in 1080P, Full HD Video!!!
On some forums, I got to know a program, called Aunsoft Final Mate, which is said to be the specific program for the camcorder fans. I took it to have a try.

I found that it can easily import my videos from the camcorder and simply merge it into one file. And, It still outputs a MTS file, same with my original videos. And it is still in 1080P and it is still a Full HD file.

In addition, the process is fast enough, 3-4 times than the former app I mentioned. Maybe you will wonder why the processing speed is so far. Actually, it does not perform conversion, or so-called re-encoding; it merges the movies in a lossless way, fast and simple, keeping all the configurations same with the original file.
I also found some other programs will help you in this job; even some of them are free ones, but I think the free ones are not user-friendly enough.

Here are the programs you can take a look:

Xilisoft Video Converter Ultimate,  $59.95, will help you merge but it will re-encode the file, the output is terrible in quality; sometimes the output will not be sync in video and audio.

Aunsoft Final Mate, $49, will help you merge the file, lossless; the output will be either in MTS or MKV in the lossless output, still in Full HD configurations. If you want to re-encode the file, it will also help you do this job.

TSMuxer,  a free one, not easy to use, not user-friendly in its UI designing. Sometimes, it would crash my computer.

MTS Merger, is also free to use, not easy to understand for some beginners. And also, sometimes, it will stop responding in the Merge process.

Some friends send me e-mail to ask me to recommend them a perfect video editor. As a Mac-user, I will certainly suggest to use Final Cut Pro X, which is considered as the most powerful video editor in the world till now. And I also download some information about this software from the website , hoping it's helpful to my friends.

On June 21, 2011, Apple released a new version of Final Cut Pro, renamed to "Final Cut Pro X", heavily based on iMovie (leading some users to call it "iMovie Pro"). Described as a complete rewrite of the original application. FCP X is a 64-bit application with Grand Central Dispatch and OpenCL support, allowing it to scale and use all available cores for background rendering.

FCP X supports up to 4K resolutions and during import, can analyse footage and audio for automatic sorting into groups such as close-ups, medium shots, shots with two people or group shots as well as prepare the footage for quick, automatic fixes for defects such as lens flare, camera shake, rolling shutter, colour balance. Audio can also be analysed in an attempt to automatically remove hums, pops or other noticeable defects. It also features a 'Magnetic Timeline' which edits footage in the middle of the Timeline without knocking any other clips or audio out of place at other points of the Timeline.

Final Cut Pro X is professional, but it's also specia and stubborn. It has the native video format Apple ProRes 422, which means it can recognize and read this format directly. But to other formats, FCP X will refuse the importing or spend much time on the process of rendering. That's why most camcorder users have trouble in importing files into FCP X. As HD camcorders now mostly capture AVCHD videos with MTS or M2TS format, FCP X can't support this format directly. Usually, I will use a video converter to change the format from MTS to ProRes.

I have tried lots of such software. But none of them could satisfy me fully. Quality is much important to a video-maker, but such converters supply new videos with horrible quality. Images will be jumpy and sometimes the audio and video are out of sync. And most software ask for long time to finish the process, which really made me crazy. In my opinion, a software which can manage to transcode the videos in short time is just what I need. But it seems that I will never get the high quality in short time meanwhile, until I met Aunsoft Final Mate for Mac.

This software, in my opinion, is just designed for HD camcorder users, as it can only support importing of limited video formats: MTS/M2TS, TOD and MOD. But that's totally enough for me. Over 90% HD camcorders shoot MTS/M2TS files actually. I will just share the feature of this powerful camcorder assistant with everyone. If you have interested in video making, maybe you can follow my steps.

Aunsoft Final Mate for Mac, which is usually used to convert videos, can also be treated as the video editor. It's main function is convert the videos to any other format you want. As I recommend to use Final Cut Pro X, you can just choose Apple ProRes 422 as the output format. To other devices or editors, correct format can be found easily after clicking the "format-choose" button. For example, you can also choose Apple InterMediate Codec for Final Cut Express 4 or iMovie, and choose Mp4 for your iPhone broadcasting. All in a word, Aunsoft Final Mate for Mac has powerful function of conversion. But how about the quality of new videos? Actually, there will be quality loss more or less no matter which converter you choose. This software could keep the quality extremely, even like the same as the original ones.

What's more, as a best camcorder assistant, Aunsoft Final Mate for Mac support basic edit to your videos. For example, if you have hundreds of video clips stored in the camcorder, this software could help to merge/join the clips together. If you have a much-long video, you can also use it to split to several parts. Of course, there are still functions which havn't been listed, you can try by yourself. But pay attention to this sentence: these edit are basic on "lossless output", which means it will change nothing about the videos. So the quality will be the same as original videos, and process only cost several seconds in a super fast speed.

Comparing with other software, Aunsoft Final Mate for Mac wins in all areas: function, quality and price. If you have a camcorder, maybe it will be your best assistant.
